Simple but not easy!
I was a cop for 25 years, from 1997 to 2022. From 2008 - 2016 I was a police academy instructor, where I 'found CrossFit' and started this fitness journey. I owned my own CrossFit gym (CrossFit Gratia) for 6 years, selling it when I went back to Patrol. I still coach at a couple of friends gyms and have founded two non-profits to take CrossFit and full person wellness into the prison systems and the 'reintegration' space. Certification wise: CrossFit L1, USAW Sports Performance Coach, IKLF Kettlebell Instructor, Kelly Starrett's Movement and Mobility, Carl Paoli's FreeStyle Movement (Gymnastics)
I lift moderately heavy things, sometimes quickly sometimes not. I row, run (jog), jump, climb, push up, pull up and generally throw my body around. I teach other people how to do that safely and effectively. That includes teaching them how and when to scale as well as nutrition concepts and applications. I've developed a good referral network for things like physical therapy and hormone therapy.
I am a Christian, husband to Jessica, father to Gwenny (6) and Gunnar (4), retired 25 year veteran cop, current business broker (50+ hrs/wk), CrossFit Coach, guy trying to make a difference wherever I can. I enjoy this 'content creator/influencer' game and hope I can spread my ability to help people in this real life fitness journey.
